President honours Moulana Abdul Aleem Qasimi of Naqsh-e-Navayat

Mangalore - At a special ceremony held today morning here in Mangalore, President Pratibha Devisingh Patil, on behalf of Mandd Sobhann, honoured 25 different Konkani organizations from different parts of the world, to mark its 25 years of activities. It was in recognition of the services they have rendered to Konkani language and culture, most of them being away from the homeland. Among those 25 organization, Bhatkal's Naqsh-e-Navayat also got place and its editor, Moulana Abdul Aleem Qasimi received the award by the hands of Honourable President.

This award ceremony was held as a part of 25 day long World Konkani Convention organized by Konkani Sahitya Academy, Mangalore.

On this occasion President of India Pratibha Devisingh Patil, Karnataka Governor H R Bharadwaj, Karnataka Higher Education Minister Dr V S Acharya, Uttarakhand Governor Margaret Alva were present on the stage.
