Police seize vehicle illegally transporting cattle from Manki to Bhatkal; driver escapes

Bhatkal 21 November 2019: Bhatkal Police seized a truck that was illegally transporting cattle from Manki to Bhatkal on Wednesday. According to source, when a container truck used to transport fishes was transporting about 10 Buffaloes from Manki to Bhatkal, the police at Shirali checkpost tried to intercept the vehicle for a routine inspection. Out of fear, the driver raced the vehicle and rammed barricades and rashly escaped from the scene also putting lives of policemen on duty who tried to stop the vehicle. As the information was passed, Police’s highway Patrol vehicle chased the truck, but the driver fled after parking the vehicle at Dongrapalli. A manhunt for vehicle’s driver has been launched by police and a case has been registered at Bhatkal Rural Police Station.
