Police seize banned e-cigarettes and nicotine vapes worth ₹1.38 lakh in Bhatkal

Bhatkal: The Bhatkal Town Police have seized banned electronic cigarettes and nicotine liquid vapes worth ₹1.38 lakh during a raid at a shop located in Dubai Market within the limits of the Bhatkal Town Police Station. The shop owner has been arrested in connection with the case.

 

According to the police, the arrested accused has been identified as Siddiq Abdul Rahman alias Mastan (58). Police said the accused was storing and selling prohibited e-cigarettes and nicotine products in his shop without any valid licence or permission. The raid was conducted based on specific information received by the police.

 

During the operation, the police seized 38 e-cigarettes valued at ₹76,000 and 125 nicotine liquid refills (vapes) worth ₹62,500.

 

A case has been registered at the Bhatkal Town Police Station in this regard. The operation was carried out under the guidance of DYSP Mahesh M.K. and led by CPI Divakar P.M.

 

Police officials stated that strict action will continue against the sale, storage and distribution of banned e-cigarettes and nicotine products in the area.
