Police bust gang of fake currency in Dandeli: 6 arrested

Dandeli: 2 June 2021 (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Dandeli Rural Police Station apprehended a car on credible information wherein 3 people were found with worth 4. 5 lakh original currency and 9 lakh fake currency in their possession, according to the press release provided by the Superintendent of Police, Uttara Kannada.
The Police have arrested Kiran Madhukar Desai and Girish Lingappa of Ratnagiri and Shabbir of Dandeli, who ran away from the car during the search. Bag bundles of Rs.500/- currency notes valued at roughly Rs.9.00 lakh (reported to be fake cash) were seized, as well as 4.5 lakh original cash brought by these people to trade for the 9.00 lakh phony currency notes.
The Police were tipped with credible information upon which they stopped the Car at Barchi Check post. PSI discovered that another car was following this automobile and intercepted it, as well as two others, Amar and Sagar, who were following as backup team, who were also brought into custody. Additional efforts were made to arrest Shabbir who was arrested late at night, the release states.
All of the suspects were questioned, and based on their information, another individual, Shivaji resident of Dandeli, was apprehended and multiple bundles of printed Rs. 500, Rs. 200, and Rs. 2000 denominations valued at roughly Rs. 62.00 lakh were seized.
Fake currency notes, as well as incomplete and printed notes in various stages of printing, were discovered. Other items confiscated included a cutting machine, blank paper, ink, and other things.
The SP also stated that, Furthermore, we are attempting to make contact with counterparts in Maharashtra and other locations in order to learn more about their backgrounds and activities.
