New Delhi : The Congress party on Friday said that the NDA regime at the Centre is not doing enough to bring back black money to India, and alleged that it was colluding and conniving with liquor baron Vijay Mallya. “Stark truth is that Vijay Mallya ran away with active connivance and protection of Modi government. Will Modiji answer, will Arun Jailtley answer that 9,091 crore rupees of money belonging to the common persons will be recovered from companies of Vijay Mallya. Who tipped off Vijay Mallya to run away?,” Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala told ANI here. Liquor baron Vijay Mallya, is facing legal proceedings for alleged default of loans worth over nine thousand crore rupees from various banks. The ED has alleged that Mallya diverted Rs. 430 crores for purchase of a property abroad from the Rs.950 crores IDBI loan for his Kingfisher Airlines. The Ministry of External Affairs on Sunday revoked Mallya’s passport in order to bring him back into India. It had yesterday written to the High Commission of the United Kingdom in Delhi requesting Mallya’s deportation so that his presence can be secured for investigations against him under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act 2002.
