PFI's 'Healthy People, Healthy Nation' Campaign at Bhatkal

Bhatkal 18th Nov. 2013: Popular Front of India (PFI), Bhatkal held its Annual 'Healthy People, Healthy Nation' Programme on Sunday, 17th November, 2013 in the form of mini marathon starting from Shamshuddin Circle and ending at Sultan Masjid with yoga exercise. The mini marathon was flagged off by Dr. Afaaque Lanka, President, Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), Uttar Kannada District.
Addressing the gathering near the Sultan Masjid Dr. Afaaque Lanka spoke on importance of Exercise in everyday life. He said that 'Health is one of the gift of Allah and we have to take care of it. Getting a daily dose of exercise highly reduces the risk of diabetics and heart diseases. Everyday we should dedicate 20 - 30 minutes for exercise, be it walking, swimming or playing.'
Toufiq Byari, President, PFI, Uttar Kannada District said that Popular Front is running the said Campaign to educate Indian masses on the importance of Health, its pros & cons and thus building a Healthy Nation. Yoga trainer Siraj spoke about inculcating Yoga habit in each individual present to have a sound & healthy lifestyle. He demonstrated important Asanas for the benefit of the People present.
