Meerut: Some people today tore posters and banners of the BJP here, claiming that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath did not garland the statue of B R Ambedkar, the police said.
The protestors in Gadhi also vandalised a liquor shop, they said. However, the police restored order. No complaint was filed in the matter. Aditynath, who was here to adress a public gathering on the eve of the 1857 War of Independence, said that no one should take law in their hands and should inform the police if they see someone else doing it. He also said people should not be swayed by their passions. —PTI
