Peace meet held in Bhatkal ahead of Ganesh Habba

Bhatkal - 18 Sep 2012: Taluk administration on Tuesday, 18th September 2012 held a peace meet here at Bhatkal Circuit House to discuss the security arrangements for the upcoming Ganesh Habba which is beginning from 19th to 23rd September 2012. On this occasion Hindu and Muslim leaders, head of Govt Departments and community leaders have expressed their full co-operation and appealed the people to maintain peace and communal harmony in the town.

On this occasion Bhatkal MLA - Mr J D Naik, TMC President - Mr Inayatullah Shabandri, Bhatkal Assistant Commissioner - Mr P V Manohar, Municipal Chief - Ms Anupama, CPI - Mr Beliyappa and representatives of both the communities have interacted with each other and assured their full cooperation in maintaining peach in the town.

Heavy security arrangements have been made for the smooth conduct of the festival. A special dog squad which arrived from Karwar has been deployed for search operation.
