Parked bike bursts into flames in Bhatkal

Bhatkallys News Bureau Bhatkal 19 March 2018: A two-wheeler parked near Hotel Four Season near Ranginakatte on NH 66 here burst into flames on Monday evening as residents sprayed the fire extinguishers before the Fire Brigade rushed to the spot and took charge of the situation. The owner of the bike parked outside Hotel Four Season, which soon caught fire instilling panic among the people nearby. Soon social worker of Bhatkal Nazir Kashimji, who was passing through NH66 managed to get the Fire Extinguisher DCP powder and got hold of the fire before the Fire Brigade team rushed to the spot. By the time the fire was brought under control, the bike was completely damaged. Speaking to Bhatkallys.com over the phone call, Senior officer from Fire Department Nazeer Ahmed Attar, urged people to refrain from filling the full tank with fuel during summer and said the full tank during summer heat results in the vehicles catching fire if the vehicles are older and do not balance the fuel and air properly.
