Parents of the soldiers assaulted over water pipeline dispute by neighbours in Murdeshwar

Bhatkal 18 March 2019:(Bhatkallys News Bureau) On dispute over water pipeline, the parents of the soldiers were assaulted and given death threat by the neighbours here at Mavalli-1 Gram Panchayat limits of Murdeshwar on Sunday.
The victims have been identified as Manjunath Shaniyar Naik and Yamuna Manjunath Naik, a resident of Heridomi locality of Murdeshwar. While the accused neighbours are Shridhar Timappa Moger, Madevi Timappa Moger, Timappa Narayan Moger and Netra Umesh Moger.
According to sources, the drinking water pipeline from Gram Panchayat to victim’s family used to pass from the land of accused family. Due to this the accused were destroying the drinking water pipe line.
Irked over repeated destruction of water pipe, Manjunath Naik complained Zilla Panchayat Offical during his visit to Murdeshwar. Acting on the orders of ZP official, Gram Panchayat PDO repaired the pipe line and also warned to take strict action against the accused family if the same is repeated in future.
In backdrop of this, when Yamuna Naik and her husband were grazing the cattle, the accused allegedly attacked them with a sword and give them threat of life.
The victims who sustained severe injuries in the attack, were shifted to Government Hospital of Bhatkal by the locals. The local police after getting alerted about the incident rushed to the hospital and conducted an inquest there.
Murdeshwar police while speaking to Bhatkallys.com said, “We are unable to take any further steps regarding the incident as the victims are admitted to the hospitals and the eyewitness are not turning up to give any information about the incident.”
Sources also added that, the two sons of the victims family are soldiers.
A case has been registered at Murdeshwar police station.
