'Parenting skills workshop' in Bhatkal on Aug 19

Bhatkal 18 August 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Indian Medical Association (IMA) Bhatkal in association with IAP Karnataka chapter and IAP Uttara Kannada chapter will organise a 'Parenting skills workshop' in Bhatkal on Sunday 19 August between 10.00 am to 2.00 pm at Vidyanjali Public School for parents, teachers and doctors. Parenting for peace foundation and Bhatkal Education trust are also part of the association that are organising this 'first of f its kind' event in Bhatkal, informed a press release by the organisers. The workshop will be divided into four parts that will have four different topics and will have four different experts to speak on each topics. The workshop has been divided in to four topics namely: 1) The need for learning parenting skills in 21st century by Dr Virupaksha Devaramane, Consultant psychiatrist, A.V Baliga hospital, Udupi- 1 hour. 2) Lifeskills- the need of the hour for our children, How can we impart them by Mrs MJF Ln Kavitha Shastri, Lions quest trainer, Mangalore- 1 hour. 3) Media and it's influence on present day kids, teenagers and parents. What can be done? By Dr Supriya Aroor Father Mullers hospital, Mangalore- 1 hour. 4) Panel Discussions on parenting issues: 1 hour By Dr. Yatesh Pujar and other faculty. The event will be open for all and will have no entry/registration fees. The organisers have called on people to turn out in numbers for this free of cost event to make the event a grand success.
