Pakistan, India DGMOs discuss security issues

WAGAH: Director General Military Operations of Pakistan and India met at the Wagah border to work out a mechanism to ease tension and ensure peace at the Line of Control (LoC). The Pakistani side was led by Director General Military Operations (DGMO) Major General Aamer Riaz while the Indian side by Lieutenant General Vinod Bhatia. One brigadier and three lieutenant colonels from each side were also present in the meeting to assist their heads. The meeting discussed issues pertaining to tension on Line of Control [LoC] and other related issues on the working boundary with a focus to maintain ceasefire and bring normalcy. Meanwhile‚ Inter-Services of Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement has said decision for holding meetings between Pakistan and Indian DGMOs was taken on political level. The DGMOs of the two countries met for the first time in 14 years. ISPR spokesman said that luncheon would also be hosted in honor of the Indian military delegation.
