Bhatkal: 06 November, 25 (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Panic spread across Bhatkal after the owners of a newly opened showroom, Global Enterprises, allegedly fled the town with large sums of money collected from customers. The firm, which had begun operations just two weeks ago near Marikatte on the main road, is now at the centre of what appears to be another multi-crore scam.

Residents said the company had attracted buyers by offering electronic goods, furniture, and other costly items at unusually low prices. At first, the owners reportedly from Tamil Nadu fulfilled a few initial orders on time, successfully winning the trust of locals. Soon after, they began collecting advance payments from customers, assuring quick delivery.

However, on Wednesday, the office was found locked and the owners missing, sparking outrage and confusion among those who had paid for goods that were never delivered.

Bhatkal Town Police Station PSI Naveen Naik confirmed that an FIR has been registered in connection with the case. “The accused are from Tamil Nadu, and our team is working to track them down. A detailed investigation is in progress,” he said while speaking to Bhatkallys.

Naik also urged residents who have been cheated to approach the Bhatkal Town Police Station with their receipts and register their complaints. He assured the public that the matter would be pursued seriously and that the culprits would be brought to justice.

The incident has stirred anger among locals, with many drawing parallels to previous large-scale scams that had targeted Bhatkal residents.
