Electronic gadgets maker OPPO on Wednesday launched the latest edition of its N series smartphone, N3, featuring a unique rotating camera, and R5, a phone which it claims to be the world’s thinnest. Besides featuring swivel camera feature, the N3 also has the capability to capture pictures in 360-degree mode, along with other added elements like multi-angle, wide-angle and panaromic shots. The company also claimed that its R5 phone is the world’s thinnest at just 4.85 mm in width. “The N3 was built and designed with our users in mind. We took what our users loved about N1 and made it even better. The N3 is a perfect demonstration of our commitment to design and innovation,” said Sky Li, General Manager, Overseas Mobile Phone Business. Mr. Li said the same was the case with the R5. “We used cutting-edge manufacturing techniques to create a phone that fits perfectly into the users’ hands, and that feels incredible,” he said. “The frame has been forged nine times and then finished by hand to give a perfect sheen and feel. It has a quality that is not available anywhere else in the industry.” The N3 focuses on detailing and its 16 megapixel camera can take high-resolution images for high quality prints. The phone also has a unique target-tracking focus shift function. The R5, OPPO said, uses ‘phase-change material’ that keeps it at a constant temperature while maintaining functionality. It lets you shoot with a maximum focus time of 0.18 seconds and delivers 50 megapixel, high-def picture clarity. “The R5, like the rest of the R series smartphones, delivers a truly stylish, exquisite and distinctive design and will continue to delight our customers with its innovative yet practical functions,” Mr. Li said. In addition to add to its user-friendly functionalities, the R5 also includes OPPO’s mini rapid charging system, where a 30-minute charge will provide 75 percent battery life and a five-minute charge will allow for a two-hour call.
