The Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) members continued to stall proceedings of the Legislative Council on Thursday demanding a CBI probe into the death of IAS official D K Ravi. Subsequently, Council Chairman D H Shankaramurthy adjourned the House to Monday. Earlier, the Opposition members wearing black ribbons staged a dharna demanding the CBI probe. Chaos prevailed in the House when the Opposition members shouted slogans demanding the probe and ruling party members shouted slogans demanding that the House be allowed to function. Amidst the chaos, the Chairman asked the protestors to allow Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to speak. But Opposition leader K S Eshwarappa demanded that the CM should announce a CBI probe, which Mr Siddaramaiah refused to. Following this, there were arguments and counter-arguments between the ruling and opposition members forcing the Chairman to adjourn the House. -The Hindu
