One Killed, 15 Injured in a bus-canter collision in Yellapur

Yellapur 11 August 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) One person was killed while about 15 sustained injuries in a ghastly road accident between KSRTC bus and a Canter vehicle at NH-66 near Arabail ghat section near Yellapur here on Saturday, 11 August. The deceased has been identified as Eranna Makarabbi(30), a resident of Gadag district. While the injured victims were recognized as Lakshmana (26), Vanilla (25), Gopal (32), Govindu (25), Surendra Naik (46), Prasanna (32), Poornima (28),Reenova (32), Indira(46), Jakira (28), Gopal(32), Kawstubha (34) and others. According to the sources, the canter which was heading towards Karwar from Hubbali tried to overtake another vehicle and crashed into the oncoming KSRTC bus and resulted in the mishap. The impact of the accident killed the Canter’s driver on the spot, and injured 15 of the KSRTC bus passengers. The victims were immediately rushed to Government hospital of Yellapur for the medical treatment. A case has been registered at Yellapur police station. (Bhatkallys News Bureau)
