Omicron variant: Karnataka Education Minister gives important update of shutting down schools, college

Bengaluru: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) In the wake of increasing COVID-19 cases and the Omicron variant in the state, Karnataka will shut down schools and colleges to ensure the safety of students, if need be, Karnataka Minister for Primary and Higher Education BC Nagesh on Monday informed the media reporters at Vidhan Soudha. Adding that the students of class 1-10 in government schools of the state have not reported cases of the virus, he said appropriate measures were taken at a few residential schools where cases of the virus were reported. He added the government will shut down schools and postpone exams if the spread of the virus is posing danger to the students. “Parents across the state have expressed their fears regarding the situation, the government will do everything it can to protect the students so there is no need to panic,” the minister told reporters.
