Oman ranked third in life quality for expats at Arab level

London: The Sultanate was ranked third in the quality of life index for expatriates, according to a new report issued by London-based HSBC.
The Sultanate was ranked 15th in the world by Business Insider on its website.
The Sultanate was ranked among the top 17 countries in the world in terms of quality of life for expatriates, which included countries, such as Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Austria and Sweden.
The index was based on a survey of more than 27,000 people from 159 countries and 27 questions related to three sub-indicators:economy, experience and family.
Oman gained 0.56 point in the economy index, which covers aspects of wage levels, job progress and the local economy.
It also gained 0.55 points in the experience index, which monitors the expat view of the country in which he/she lives, and 0.38 point in the family index, which measures the aspect of social life and the ease of children making friendships and others. Singapore topped the index followed by Norway, New Zealand, Germany, the Netherlands and Canada.
