Bhatkal: 22 March 2021 (Bhatkally News Bureau) The old fish market in Bhatkal will close on March 31, so traders should remove all of their equipment before then.
This information was given on a Bhatkal Municipality-affixed poster in the existing market.
Fish will be traded at a high-tech fish market near the Sunday market on Hospital Road beginning April 1, as per the poster, for which preparations are ongoing. Fish vendors are asked to work with the municipality and use the new fish market in this respect.
Mr. Desh Pandey, the former District Minister in Charge, laid the foundation stone for the new high-tech fish market, and it was in his hands that it was inaugurated in 2018. Since the inauguration, the relocation of fishmongers from the old market has been an issue. The municipality has now decided to relocate the fish market by taking a strict stance in this respect, with the expectation that fish vendors will begin doing business here on April 1.
