Now rent a bike for tourists at Rs 5/km in Uttara Kannada

Karwar 20 May 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) The District Administration of Karwar in collaboration with 'Metro Bikes' has launched rental bike services for the convenience of the tourists here at Karwar and Gokarna.
Deputy Commissioner SS Nakul and Chandrashekhar Nayaka launched this service at the District Administration office on Saturday.
District administration after taking a note of tourists, especially foreigners availing such services in Goa to avoid the high prices of autos and taxis, considered collaborating with Metro bikes to initiate similar service in Uttara Kannada district.
To those willing to avail the services, need to install the 'Metro Bikes' application on their phone to book the bikes which will be parked at bus stops and landmark places. The keyless bikes will start by entering the OTP (One time password) generated from the App.
The charges are set at Rs. 5/- kilometer while to book the bikes for one day it will charge Rs. 199/-.
Deputy Commissioner SS Nakul added "The initiative is in line with the administration's efforts to improve tourism in the district, and a total of 70 such bikes will be deployed in Karwar and Gokarna for the convenience of the travellers".
