Now, CCTV surveillance in Bhatkal to curb over-speeding and crime

Bhatkal: To control crime and over-speeding of vehicles, 6 CCTV cameras have been installed in Bhatkal by the police department. Out of them, five have been installed in the vicinity of the police station and a moving camera has been installed in front of Urban Bank which is capable of capturing clearer images up to a distance of 200 metres.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sudheer Reddy inaugurated the CCTV surveillance system in Bhatkal Town police station and provided more details about it to press reporters. He said that the system is capable of storing data for 15 days and based on the need, the data will be archived or purged after 15 days. Going forward, more such cameras will be installed at appropriate locations.
