Novak Djokovic thumps Rafael Nadal to win maiden Wimbledon title

World Number 2 Novak Djokovic of Serbia on Sunday rolled out a near-flawless performance to outgun defending champion and World Number 1 Rafael Nadal of Spain 6-4, 6-1, 1-6, 6-3 to win his first Wimbledon title in his debut appearance in the final.

Djokovic won the first two sets easily, but Nadal pulled one back as he came into his own in the third, but the Serb held his nerves to close out the match for his fifth win over Nadal this year.
