Notorious thief involved in string of burglaries in Bhatkal nabbed

Bhatkal: Bhatkal police have arrested a notorious thief, identified as Kumar Murugesh (26), allegedly involved in the recent string of burglaries in Bhatkal. The police was on the lookout for the accused for many theft cases in Haasan, Bhatkal, and other places.
A source informed that the accused was under captivity in Tamilnadu for a theft case. After spending 3-4 months in jail, he was released on bail. On 10th October he arrived in Bhatkal after which he started executing a series of thefts in Bhatkal.
He is reported to reside near Bhatkal railway station for past 2-3 years and works as a porter/labourer in Bhatkal. After initial probe, the police have recovered gold worth more than Rs 20 lakhs from him and is carrying out thorough investigation to unearth the many thefts that were carried out recently.
