'Nothing in hand, everything in mind' Advocates' day celebrated in Bhatkal; Imran Lanka scores 15 ball 50 in cricket match organised by bar association

Bhatkal 3 December 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Advocates from Bhatkal bar association on Monday came on one platform and organisesd a cricket tournament and other sports events to mark advocates' day in Bhatkal here at Madeena ground in Venkatapur, Bhatkal. A formal event was also organised at the Bar Association office here in the court premises. During the event, Senior counsel ASN Hebbar addressed advocates and added that the noble profession of advocates goes with the saying of 'Nothing in hand, everything in mind' which doesn't go with any other profession. He added "An Engineer has a plan in his hands, a doctor has stethoscope  while an advocate doesn't have anything in hand but has everything in his mind and helps people secure justice". "The largest statue in the world is of an Advocate (Sardar Vallabhai Patel), The first president of India was an advocate, the man who gave constitution to India was an advocate" Hebbar added while speaking of the importance of lawyers. "We as advocates have the social responsibility of taking stands against social justice no matter wherever it takes places and whatever it is, even if the judgements in cases are wrong, we the advocates community should be first to raise voice against it" Hebbar further added. Advocate Shankar Naik, was also felicitated during the event for his 23 years of service. Shankar added "A Advocate welfare fund should be maintained here in Bhatkal which should be used for the welfare of the advocates here" Shankar later donated Rs. 10,000 for the funds. Prominent advocates including former Bhatkal MLA JD Naik, RR Shresty and others were also present during the matches here. JD Naik inaugurated the tournament and wished luck to all the three teams of advocates playing in the tournament. During the games team led by NEH emerged winners in cricket tournament where Advocate Imran Lanka scored a quickfire 15 ball 52 to help his team seal the trophy.
