Noted Kannada poet Nisar Ahmed to inaugurate Bhatkal Journalists Association's silver jubilee fete on Jan 7

Bhatkallys News | 28 Dec. 2016 BHATKAL -- Celebrated Kannada poet and Padmashree awardee Prof. K.S. Nisar Ahmed will be the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of silver jubilee celebrations of Bhatkal Taluka Working Journalists Association (R) that will be held on January 7, 2017 at Shri Guru Sudhindra College ground, Bhatkal. This was disclosed by Radhakrishna Bhat, president of Bhatkal Taluka Working Journalists Association (R). The Bhatkal Taluka Working Journalists Association which was formed in 1993 has drawn up elaborate plans to celebrate the 25th year of its existence. The programmes will run throughout the year. The inaugural ceremony on January 7, 2017 will be presided over by Mankal Vaidya, Bhatkal MLA. The Association's website will be launched by Jayshree Moger, president of Zilla Panchayat, Uttara Kannada district, Karwar. Other dignitaries that will grace the inauguration include S.S. Nakul (IAS), deputy commissioner, Uttara Kannada; N. Raju, State president, Karnataka Working Journalists Assoc., Bangalore; Kazia Mohammed Muzammil, president, Majlise Islah Wa Tanzeem, among others. The function is slated to begin at 7pm followed by dance competitions. Noted journalist Vijayalakshmi Shibaroor of Suvarna News 24x7 will be honoured with Karavali Ratna award on the occasion.
