Nisar returns home after treatment; terms trade rivalry as reason behind the attack

27 Oct 2013 / Rizwan Gangavaly / Bhatkallys News Bhatkal: Today afternoon, Bhatkal's famous social worker Nisar Ruknuddin, commonly known as Top Nisar was attacked and his office too was vandalised by some unknown miscreants, after which he was sent to Kundapur for necessary treatment. After getting requisite aid, Nisar has returned back to his residence now. In a statement given to the police, he has termed business rivalry as the reason behind the attack as his shop does good business when compared to his competitors. Describing the attack, he said that he was discussing his helping association's accounts with the association's secretary Mohini Naik when a group of seven men came at around 3.30 pm and called him outside. They caught his collar and dragged him outside the office and tried pushing him downstairs when two police officials came and rescued him. He said that a CCTV camera installed in his office has captured the complete video of the attackers and using this the police can carry forward their investigation. On this occasion, members of Majlis Islah-va-Tanzeem went to his residence and paid a visit to him.
