Nine houses collapsed due to heavy rain in Honnavar

Honnavar 11 May 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) About nine houses collapsed after heavy rain accompanied by storm lashed out Wednesday night damaging nine houses in the Taluk.

The rain that was drizzling across the Honnavar Taluk around 9:30 pm became a downpour with  heavy storm around 11:30 at night. It rained about 16.4 mm in the Taluk and the heavy storm brought the trees down destroying about nine houses at different parts of Honnavar including Haldipur, Karki, Kadle, Chandavar, Gerusappa and other locality.

The heavy storm had also created electricity complications as about five electrical polls had collapsed to the ground that resulted with no electricity around the region till 6:00 pm on Thursday.
