New Mangalore Port Trust wins cleanest port of India award

Bhatkallys News Bureau/ Wafa Kifa Mangaluru 09 April 2018: Under Swatch Bharat Mission, the New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) has been ranked No.1 among 12 ports in India by Quality Council of India, appointed by the Ministry of Shipping for maintaining cleanliness around its surrounding. NMPT stood atop in various sectors including cleanliness in the operational areas, office building, cleanliness in residential areas around etc and secured highest points among all 12 major ports for implementation for the year 2017-18. The main significant of winning award is achieved through the team support officers, labourers, and stake holders etc although the port handles all types of cargo including coal and iron ore etc, stated in a release issued by NMPT.
