Nearly 150 expats arrested in dawn raid in Oman

Muscat: A total of 149 expats were arrested during an inspection visit by the Ministry of Manpower on Monday.
The inspection, which took place in Wilayat Seeb at dawn on Monday, was carried out in cooperation with the Royal Oman Police.
In a statement, the ministry said: “The Ministry of Manpower and the Royal Oman Police carried out a joint inspection campaign at dawn on Monday.”
“The inspection was for homes that sheltered violating expats in North Al Hail area in Wilayat Seeb,” the ministry added.
As a result of the inspection, “149 expats including seven women were arrested,” the ministry said.
