Nawayath Football League begins in Mangaluru for students from Bhatkal, surronding areas

Mangaluru:26 October 2023 (Bhatkallys News Bureau) In a heartening development for football lovers in Mangaluru, the Nawayath Football League (NFL) was officially inaugurated, promising a thrilling series of matches over the next four days. The tournament, organized by students from Bhatkal Muslim Jamat Hostel, is designed exclusively for players and enthusiasts from Bhatkal and nearby towns.

The NFL, which spans over four days, has drawn participation from eight teams, all set to compete on the field. The matches are being held at the Futsal Dugout in Pandeshwar, Mangaluru.

The initiative has garnered significant support from various sponsors. Arshad Mohtisham, the Managing Director of Mohtisham Builders, has taken up the role of the title sponsor. Dr. Ezzuddin Aatif and businessman Imtiyaz Damda have also extended their support as major sponsors, contributing to the tournament.

The inaugural event saw the presence of Muavia Mohtesham, the General Secretary of Uttara Kannada District Football Association. He addressed the attendees, emphasizing the diverse career opportunities available in football, extending beyond player roles to encompass support staff and coaching positions. He expressed his delight at the growing interest and enthusiasm for football among the people of Bhatkal and neighboring areas.
