National Level Kabbadi Tournament to be organised in Bhatkal

Bhatkal 18 Sept 2016: For the first time in Bhatkal a National level Kabaddi tournament will be organised which will kick off on 30th December 2016 and will come to end on 1st of January 2017. The announcement was made in a press conference held at a private hotel here by Ravi Shetty, Coach of Mumbai based Pro-Kabbadi team. He further added, the event will take place at Guru Sudhindra college, and a special Mat court is under construction for the tournament.
Adding the details of the prizes of the tournament he said, Winners will be awarded 2.25 lacs in cash with a trophy, while the runner-up will bag a sum of 1.5 lacs in cash and a trophy, both the teams which reached semis will be awarded 75 thousand rupees in cash.
A total of 16 teams are expected for participation including Bharat Petroleum, where as two teams from Bhatkal will participate in the tournament.
The tournament will is organised jointly by JD Naik Abhimani Balga Bhatkal, Katteveera sports club and Parshuram Sports club Bhatkal and will be held under the banner of State Amateur Kabbadi Association.
State Amateur Kabbadi Association president Suraj Naik Soni, TMC Bhatkal President Sadiq Matta, Inayathullah Shabandri, Imtiyaz Udyawar, Shreedhar Naik, were among others present at the press conference.
