National Highway widening work resulting in accidents; safety parameters not in place: Murdeshwar residents complains Bhatkal AC

Bhatkal 15 March 2019: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) The locals of Murdeshwar on Thursday submitted a memorandum to Bhatkal Assistant Commissioner (AC) Sajjid Ahmed Mulla urging him to take action over problems faced by people at Murdeshwar due to National Highway widening work. The memorandum was submitted here at AC Office in Bhatkal.
The Memorandum stated that, “Due to unscientific construction of National Highway at Murdeshwar, the locality has turned into an accident prone area”. It complained of authorities not placing speed breakers on NH between RNS Highway hotel to Bastimakki while heading towards Honnavar from Bhatkal adding that it has made the road all the more dangerous.
The memorandum further added that no electricity supply has been arranged to the light poles on the NH months after they were installed.
“As the locality consist of Railway station, Nationalized banks, Petrol bunks, Schools, colleges, hospitals, hotels etc near the National highway, necessary actions must be taken to avoid any further accidents in the vicinity” memorandum stated.
On this occasion Eshwar S Dodmane, Guru Naik, Manikant Naik and other local residents were present while submitting the memorandum.
