Nation-wide Bandh has no impact on Normal life in Bhatkal

Bhatkal 8 January 2019: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Bhatkal on Tuesday witnessed mixed reaction to two days national wide band called out by Joint Committee of trade Union (JCTU) protesting against the trade policies by the central government. Responding to the two days strike at National level, several shops and also the co-operative banks across Bhatkal Taluka were opened as usual. However, holidays were declared to various schools and colleges of Bhatkal as per the orders by District Commissioner. The KSRTC bus services were also came to an halt after 9am. While the local tempos that travel to Byndoor and Honnavar, were seen halted at their stops. The Centre of Indian Trade Unions of Bhatkal unit and Karnataka Anganawadi Labours association marched a rally from Taluka Panchayath office to Bhatkal Tahsildar's office through Shamsuddin Circle and protested there for about an hour shouting slogans against the trade policies of central government.
