Mysuru Warriors donate library to govt. school

Mysuru, 14 July, 2016 (The Hindu):Karnataka Premier League team Mysuru Warriors in association with Kalisu Foundation have donated a library to Sharadavilas Government Higher Primary School at Kanakagiri here.

This is the second library the NR Group-owned team has donated to a government school. The objective of the initiative is to extend support towards providing quality education to children in government schools, a release said.

Kalisu Foundation played a pivotal role in conceptualising the library. Vikram Muthanna, managing editor of Star of Mysore, handed over the library to the school authorities. R. Guru, chairman of NR Group, Balachandar, convenor of the Karnataka State Cricket Association, Mysuru zone, B. N. Shivaramegowda, BEO, south zone, Mysuru, and Ravish, principal of the school, were present.

Earlier this year, Mysuru Warriors in association with Kalisu Foundation had established a library in Kuvempunagar Government School. Till date, about 1,300 books have been issued.

Mr. Guru said, “We are happy to be in a position to take initiatives for the betterment of society. Out of all the things that can take our society forward, education is the most important.”
