Bhatkal: Thousands of agitated Muslims held a protest here today at Taluka Stadium in Nawayat Colony against an alleged defamatory statement made by Kamlesh Tiwari, working president of the Hindu Mahasabha of Uttar Pradesh, against Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him). The protest was called by Bhatkal's socio-political organization, Majlise Islah Wa Tanzeem.
A large number of Muslim clerics from the town including Maulana Khaja Akrami, Maulana Ansar Madani, Maulana Abdul Azeem Kazia participated in the protest and expressed their thoughts.
Condemning Kamlesh Tiwari’s statement, they said that the likes of Abu Lahab and Abu Jahal have existed since the time of the Prophet (PBUH) and have only met disgrace and humiliation in the end.
In the end, Abdullaah Damudi read out the memorandum that will be submitted to UP Chief Minister Mr. Akhliesh Yadav through the office of the Assistant Commissioner of Bhatkal. The memorandum has urged Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav to take stringent action against Kamlesh Tiwari, working president of the All India Hindu Mahasabha for his alleged blasphemy of the Prophet Muhammad.
