  • The victim, Arbaz, was reportedly in love with a woman named Swetha, due to which he received repeated threats from the extremist group.
In yet another instance of anti-minority hate crime, a 24-year-old Muslim man in Karnataka’s Belgavi district was beheaded and killed over an alleged love affair with a Hindu girl. The incident came to light early morning today. The beheaded body with the legs cut-off was found on railway tracks. He has been identified as Arbaz, and the perpetrators are believed to be from Rame Sena in Karnataka. According to Sameer Parshwadi, a relative of Arbaz, the gruesome took place on September 28. “From the last two months he had been receiving threatening calls from one person claiming to be from the Ram Sena. On September 26 his mother also got a call, with some people asking them to go to attend a meeting and settle the issue at Khanapur. She and Arbaz had stopped about a kilometer before it,” he said in a video statement put out by Maktoob Media. Sameer said that Arbaz, who was apparently in love with a Hindu woman named Swetha, had been asked to delete photos and everything after meeting with the Ram Sena members. “Some money was also asked to settle the issue. On September 28, Monday, Arbaz kept getting repeated calls, and he informed his mother as well. Arbaz told her he is going to settle the issue and went out, after which we got to know around 8 p.m. (about the incident),” he added. The brutal murder reportedly took place in Belagavi district, Khanapur taluk in North-Western Karnataka. The mutilated body of the victim Arbaaz was found on railway tracks and Railway police is investigating into the matter. Times Now special correspondent Imran Khan on Saturday shared the graphic visuals of the mutilated dead body of Arbaaz lying on railway tracks with the head in one corner and legs in other different corners of the scene.
