Muslim leaders object to constructing Murin Katta next to the Muslim compound adjacent to the Bhatkal National Highway; Assistant Commissioner holds Peace Meeting

Bhatkal: 17 January 2021 (Bhatkallys News Bureau) There has been a disagreement between the parties in Bhatkal over the development of Murin Katta at a site adjacent to the Nawayat Colony National Highway. The two appear to be at odds about their specifications. On the one side, Muslim leaders claim that it is not right to build it adjacent to the compound of the building, as there are Muslim houses, while Hindu leaders say that it is a government place and is already reserved for Murin Katta. There is no doubt about it being scrapped.
Krishna Naik, a leader of the NamdhariSamaj, who was present at the meeting, said that on the occasion of Mari Habba, the Mari Katte is reserved for carrying the Mari Hora and it moves from Mowgli Honda to Bhatkal and from here to Sharali then reaches Sirsi where people come with a devotion that has always been a ritual. Now that the location is heading down the road because of the highway, it has been moved back a little so that trust is maintained and no one can avoid cutting this government location here.
InayatullahShabandri said that we are aware of this aspect, but it is not correct to construct in this way outside the Muslim compound. He said that here, in the Kumta style, katta can also be built on the dividers in the middle of the highway, which will also solve the issue.InayatullahShabandri said that the same can be achieved here, just as the places of worship have been transferred to other places before, but we will not permit the construction of this cut adjacent to any Muslim compound.
In the session, there was a fierce discussion, but no conclusion was reached. Ultimately, the matter intensified to such a degree that the leaders of the two sides left the meeting.
Assembly member Sunil Naik said on the occasion that this is a government site and that the Murin katte will be reconstructed on the same site and the hurdles will be removed in that regard.
It should be noted that the houses owned by Mr. Abdul Rahim Damudi and Mr. Syed Mohi-ud-Din Barniare situated adjacent to the Murin Katte site. The two raised their opposition to the matter by addressing the National Social Organisation, Majlis-e-Islah-o-Tanzeem, to which the Majlis-e-Islah-o-Tanzeem had appealed to the Assistant Commissioner for intervention.
Commissioner S Bharat, Tehsildar Ravi Chandra, Circle Police Inspector DevakarSumit, National Highway Authority officials, Bhatkal Municipal President Pervez Qasimji, Councilor of the area Bilal Qamari andTanzeem President SM Pervez, General Secretary Abdul Raqib MJ. Nadvi and other officials were also present at the meeting.
