Mushawarat to hold four days conference in Mumbai

Mumbai, 24 Sep. 2016: Considering the shifting socio-political situation of the country, All India Muslim Majlis e Mushawarat (AIMMM), an oldest advocacy group of Indian Muslims, has decided to hold series of meetings in a four day program and reflect on key issues facing the community. The program will be organized between October 13 to October 16, 2016 in Mumbai. A special public meeting will be held on October 15 which will be attended by National Muslim Leaders and Ulema, Mushawarat announced in a press release. As many as 400 policy makers, community leaders, academicians and activists are expected to attend the four day program and discuss on varying issues pertaining to the community in the wake of changing socio-political conditions in India. Mushawarat has a long history of serving the community in its struggle to get equitable justice, for Hindu Muslim unity, defending its religious and legal rights and in formation of All India Muslim Personal Law Board, AMU Action Committee for restoration of its minority character in 1967, in struggle for Babri Masjid by constituting "Babri Masjid Coordination Committee" and in reaching communal strife areas and extending help to the victims with its limited resources, it says in the press release. Mushawarat is an oldest advocacy group of Indian Muslims, launched 52 years back by Muslim leaders and its first President was Dr. Syed Mehmood, freedom fighter and former Minister in Nehru Cabinet.
