Murdeshwar: Local lifeguards rescue yet another tourist from drowning

Murdeshwar 07 Jan 2018: A prompt action by the local lifeguards of Murdeshwar rescued a tourist when he was swept away by the high tides on the local beach here in Murdeshwar on Sunday Jan 07.
Local lifeguards Rohit and Shashidhar swung into action with their speed boats when they were timely alerted about a tourist being swept away by the tides. The victim has been identified as Gangan (18) a resident of Shimoga who was here with his friends for picnicking. Gagan is said to be student of a paramedical college of Shivmoga.
Gagan was rushed to a local hospital after water was taken off from his lungs and he was resuscitated.
It is to be noted that the lifeguards in Murdeshwar have been very active lately, as there have been several cases of people drowning and tides washing away tourists have been reported in last two year, it is the same reason the District Administration had deployed lifeguards one year ago at beaches in the district which attract tourists.
