Murdeshwar: Gau Rakshaks attack driver and cleaner transporting cattle; Thirteen arrested

Murdeshwar: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Truck Driver and a cleaner who were allegedly transporting cattles in the truclt were on Sunday beaten balck and blue by a group of Gau Rakshaks on NH 66 here at Murdeshwar. According to the sources, the truck filled with cattles were on its way towards Kochi of Kerala from Gujarat. It is said that Gowrakshaks stopped the vehicles around 9pm and thrashed the driver and cleaner ruthlessly. It is also gathered that the culprits broke open the trucks and let go the cattles on the road and damaged the truck. Reports also added that the group initially suspected the cattle were being transported to Bhatkal while it was being transported to Kerala. After the incident was, additional police forces have been deployed to maintain the avoid any untoward incident and to maintain law and order in the region. A case has been registered by Murdeshwar police who have also arrested 13 people in this regard and are further investigating the case.
