Murder probe to investigate 'mystery death'

Bhatkal - 13 Sep 2011: Police sources have started investigating the mysterious death of Abdul Salam Damda as a special team has started gathering facts and clues. The case is being investigated by top police officials under the leadership of Deputy Superintendent of Police P. Andy Birje.

According to sources, police officials have questioned the people who were in touch with Salam shortly before his death. Officers are also probing on the possibility of murder and foul play based on personal rivalry.

Police officials have cited the team is also inquiring about the phone calls made on Salam's number as the team is building its leads quickly.

Experts on the investigation team include CPI Arun Kalgoji, CPI Shiv Prakash and CPI Shrikanth from Kumta.
