Mudslide in Kaup takes lives of two laborers

Udupi 28 Feb 2018: In a strange incident, two workers were accidentally buried alive by mudslides under the pipeline construction site at Kaup on February 27, Tuesday. The deceased were identified as Dasappa and Umesh, both residents of Chickmangluru. It is said that, the UGD work was under process. The dug hole was constructed to lay the pipeline. While they were working, unfortunately both of them slipped into the whole ditch and were buried in an unexpected mudslide in it. Locals came to rescue as the incident took place and after a lot of efforts took them out of mud ditch. They were taken to the hospital but were declared brought dead. Kaup MLA Vinay Kumar Sorake, former MLA Lalaji Mendon, Congress District President Naveenchandra Shetty and other local leaders visited the spot. A case has been registered at the Kaup police station.
