Moulana Ilyas Nadvi issues clarification

The confusion following S.M. Syed Khaleelur Rahman's speech on the final day of Jamia Islamia Bhatkal's Education Convention, clarifying his stand on Moulana Salaman Nadvi's comments, highlighted a misunderstanding among the people of Bhatkal.

As a result of this, a section of the community believed that, I insulted Khaleel Saheb by snatching his microphone and forced him to discontinue his speech.

In the inaugural session of the education Convention while introducing Bhatkal's various Educational Institutions, we have categorically said that, Alhamdulillah our Anjuman is the only institution in India which imparts modern education with Islamic values and foundation. Alhamdulillah, we standby our words.

Anjuman and Jamia representatives have cleared their misunderstandings in a peaceful environment and we have also issued a joint declaration ending the whole dispute which has yielded good results.

At a thanksgiving program yesterday at Jamia wherein hundreds of people from in and around Bhatkal were participated, we have publicly apologised on this issue.

S.M. Syed Khaleelur Rahman Saheb is a highly regarded personality of our community who is serving our nation and millat in the field of education and dawah. We hope to see his continued contributions in future.

I personally apologise if he was hurt due to the misunderstanding and any of our unpleasant acts and we hope that he will ignore this whole episode with an open heart in the interest of supporting dawah activities at national and international levels and he will come forward to end this discussion forever.

May Allah give S M Syed Khaleel a long life and a passion to serve the Muslim Ummah and our community.

We also request general public not to fuel this issue and end it in the best interest of community.
