Moulana Ilyas Jakti to deliver Lecture at Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque

Muscat - 09 Sep 2011: The Sultan Qaboos Center for Islamic Studies, Diwan of Royal Court, Government of Sultanate of Omanhas invited Moulana Mohammed Ilyas Nadvi Jakti to deliver lecture on Seerah of Prophet Mohammed (SAW) as part of the essay contest prize distribution ceremony to be held attheGrand Lecture Hall of Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, Muscat onThursday September 15, 2011. This invitation was offered to Moulana Ilyas by Aftab Husain Kola on behalf of Diwan of Royal Court, Oman Govt. Moulana Ilyas will be in Muscat for three days.

Moulana Ilyas had suggested to Aftab Kola to conduct an essay contest for people in Oman on Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his message of peace. Aftab Kola liked the idea and submitted the proposal to Diwan and they liked the idea. Diwan appointed AftabKola as the convener. About four hundred essay entries were received in four categories (Under 16 Muslims / Under-16 Non-Muslims / Above-16 Muslims / Above-16 Non-Muslims). Aftab Kola is involved in a big way in coordinating Islamic activities, Islamic lectures, Islamic camps during holidays for students and others in Oman.

Besides, Moulana Ilyas Nadvi, a non-Muslim will also give lecture on Prophet. On the same day, all winners of the essay contest will be honoured.
