More Goan liquor being illegally transported on Goa-Mangaluru express train seized

Karwar 27 June 2018: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) on Tuesday seized more Goan alcohol at Shirawad railway station of Karwar, being illegally transported in the Goa-Mangaluru express train. During the regular inspection inside the train, a team led by Deepak Sharma found a suspicious bag in one of the compartments of the train which turned out to be filled with 26 bottles of Goan liquor. The seized alcohol is estimated to be of Rs. 7800/- which were later handed over to the excise department. The RPF over the last few months has seized several such unmanned consignments illegally transporting Goan liquor in trains mostly bound to Mangaluru, and has been putting in efforts to put an full stop to such activities.
