Moral Policing Over theft of Cow in Bhatkal

Bhatkal, 04 Aug 2016: Since the BJP government took the charge of centre in India just about two years back, there have been numerous incidents of vigilance and moral policing over the issue of trade of cow and cow slaughtering by the right wings organizations like RSS, Ram Sena, VHP, Sangh Parivar and a few more. On Wednesday one such incident took place in Bhatkal, as vigilant members of Sangh Parivar, slammed one youth on streets and made him to take a ride around the town after stripping him in public. According to sources, Shankar Naik, (38) a resident of Bhatkal, was allegedly transporting a cow in an auto rickshaw when few members of Sangh Parivar rounded the auto and made allegations of cow-theft against the youth, before beating him up in broad daylight. On being informed a team of Police including CPI Suresh Nayak, PSI Revathi, made it to the crime scene but it took them hours before taking control over the situation, and the angry sangh parivar members. Later on a case of theft has been registered against Shekar in Bhatkal Town Police Station. IMG-20160804-WA0105
