Moon Star Bhatkal wins Assadullah Dist Level T20 Cricket Tournament

Bhatkal - 21 Dec 2011: Moon Star Bhatkal clinched Assadullah District Level T20 Cricket Trophy by defeating Crown Honnavar by 18 runs here at Kola Ground, Azad Nagar, Bhatkal.

Moon Star won the toss and decided to bat first. They posted 170 runs in their allotted 20 overs with the help of breezy 46 from Nasrullah Askeri. In reply, Crown Honnavar managed to get only 152 runs losing 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

The winners received a cash prize of Rs 40,000/- along with trophy while the runners-up, Crown Honnavar received Rs. 25,000/- and a trophy. Mr Siraj of Moon Star adjudged Man of the Final and awarded with Rs. 5,000/. Highest run getter, Mr Tanveer from Crown Honnavar received Rs 2,500/- and an orange cape. Highest wicket taker, Mr Lokesh from Honnavar received Rs 2,500/- and a purple cape. On this occasion, Bhatkal's famous swimmer, Mr Kosha Meeran was felicitated for his achievements.

Bhatkal MLA - Mr J D Naik, KPCC Secretary - Mr Niveditya Alva, Mr Abdul Raqeeb M J, Mr Ravi Kumar Shetty, Mr Inayatullah Shabandri, Mr Sadiq Matta and others were present on the stage.
