Moon sighting committee confirms sighting of Rajab Moon in Bhatkal

Bhatkallys News Bureau Bhatkal 18 March 2018: The Moon sighting committee of Bhatkal on Sunday confirmed the sighting of the moon of month of Rajab, the committee also consist of Qazis of both the Jama'at (i.e Jamatul Muslimeen Bhatkal and Khalifa Jamatul Muslimeen) and is the final authority of confirming the sighting of moon marking Islamic calendar months. Rajab is the seventh month of the Islamic calendar and is regarded as one of the four sacred months in Islam in which battles are prohibited. This also marks the countdown to the Holy Month of Islamic Calendar Ramadhan as Rajab and Sha'ban are a prelude to the month of Ramadhan. According to a Ahadith Sayyaduna Anas Ibn Malik Reports, 'When the month of Rajab would commence, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) would recite the following prayer' "Oh Allah! Send blessings upon us in the month of Rajab and Shaban and allow us to reach Ramadhan".
