Monkey threat continues in Makhdoom colony; 10 injured

Bhatkal - 02 June 2011: Monkey threat in Makhdoom colony area continues to haunt people especially children. Reports of stray monkeys roaming in the area and attacking children by entering their houses are common here. In the past one week, nearly 10 children injured from monkey bite. In the latest incident yesterday monkey attacked 3 children and badly injured them. The injured were rushed to Govt hospital, but due to absence of medical officer over there, they were admitted to private hospitals.

People of Makhdoom colony had complained to forest officials about monkey menace in the area but no action is taken so far. But after recent incident, angry people staged protest in-front of Forest office and demanded immediate action against stray Monkeys.
