JD(S) State president H.D. Kumaraswamy, on Monday, appeared before the Lokayukta Special Investigation Team (SIT) that is probing into the Janthakal Enterprises mining case. He was grilled for over three hours at the SIT Hebbal office. The team is probing the alleged misuse of his office to favour Janthakal Enterprises when he was the Chief Minister, besides permitting it to lift an old stock of 1 lakh tonnes of iron ore. The Karnataka High Court had recently granted Mr. Kumaraswamy anticipatory bail in the case, and had directed him to appear before SIT every alternate Monday for the next six months or till filing of the final report. “I have done no wrong. The case is a political conspiracy,” Mr. Kumaraswamy said.
